It depends if you will just be using html or if you will be using ASP, PHP, xhtml, xml, etc. as well. If you will just be using html, html for dummies is a pretty good choice, but chances are you don't even need to learn html -- WYSIWYG editors like Dreamweaver and Frontpage allow you to design pages without understanding the html behind them.

use Google to find articles and tutorials. there are a lot on the web. those should get u started if u know a little about programming and concepts. it's not worth spending money on books, at least here. of course, free online books are a different matter Smiley. there is no best book, they are usually the same with little differences, and HTML is not a very big topic. most of the times, u use HTML in conjunction with php, java, etc

Try 'Head First HTML'
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/059610197X/qid%3D1143976611/203-4027555-4344769

All the books in the Head First series explain things in a very simple and fun way, so it easy to understand when you're new to subject.

This isn't a book, but another good place for online tutorials is W3Schools. They have tons of examples you can actually work with while you're learning so you'll be able to remember it better. It's free, too.
